FWIW, a composite pic:


The camera appears to have been very slighly askew of the bow when the photo was taken so the tiller shown is not entirely accurate.   

Basically, a layer of the photo was added, flipped vertically and then the layer was rotated so the bow's profile matched in both layers (it just about matched exactly!).  Then an ellipse was drawn and a line was drawn thru the ellipse's horz. axis.  The thing I ponder is where that line hits on the sting and bow in relation to your hands' pressure points on the bow and string.   

Anyway,  thanks a bunch for posting Blackhawk- I'm rooting for ya!

If you look at the space to the left of the garage, you can see that the camera was not perfectly lined up (probably a bit too high - you need to get the photographer a nice cushy chair next time!), so the top is a bit closer and the panels appear bigger there. 

Can't wait to see this one flinging some arrows - woo hoo!

You're asking the wrong guy where to scrape on that bow Blackhawk!   I really struggle with tillering, hence the fooling around with photos. :embarassed:   So, here's a composite with most of the askewness in the photo removed:


Maybe even scrapes on both limbs if the bow's profile is non-pyramid?       I'm still wondering if the axis of the ellipse ought to align with your hand and fingers pressure points in the bow and string- i.e. weaker upper limb and ellipse tilted to the left.  Maybe shoot a few arrows to judge nocking point and handshock before scraping?

Please keep us updated- especially where you scrape on the bow!

Might be a few days before I work on it again. Wind chills here are gonna be reaching near -30F for the next couple days. I'm not gonna try and prove an unbacked ERC in those conditions...it'll prob break n my fingers will get frostbite in minutes ...screw that.

So who has experience with a lot of ERC to say a high RPI is better or worse than thick rings?

Looking great Chris, I might have to whittle on her sister.  I like the smell of ERC. Being that I can only see in one eye, I like it too and haven't messed with it other than roughing out..  Safety glasses required...
