I made some "primitive" micarta. Instead of using epoxy resin I used tight bond 2. After grinding it I added some of Pat B's special sauce. The next morning I checked it and saw that it had gone from very rigid to a little flexible. Has anyone made a handle for a bendy handle bow out of this?

I have no idea Joe. I have been seeing the recent posts about this and am intrigued to a point. I have not reinforced any tips on bows but hope to in the future. I like the look. I will try to search back and see what all this is about.

I'm sure it wood work for a bendy handle,but using cork to build up a bendy handle is the easiest way to go imo.

'm curious, what is my special sauce? 
 I've not tried cork but thick shoe leather works well for building up handles on bendy handle bows...and tip overlays too.

I thought you would get it for sure Pat. Super Glue. I don't know why, but it went a little flexy after I put super glue on it. Just seemed kinda neat. I think I am going to try it. My board bow handle just popped off. Just like you all said it would.

  Done siomething similar, JoJO, but not to build up a handle.  Used it to make reinforced string bridges and tips for a weird recurve I made,

Another thing I did once was placing a glue-soaked strip of linen between laminates, because I was still getting uswd to TB III not filling gaps.  My surfaces were always good, but things liked to cup and gap when wet, or I had a hard time getting pressure in the right areas when clamping into a form, WITHOUT starving the glue joint an incha away or whatever.

It worked wonderfully, actually, but the mess wasn't worth it, really.  The dipping and soaking and stuff trying to dry on ya.

See how the riser sits above the plane of the limb. If you build your bows like this the handle will not pop off, no matter which of the common glues you use. This is a standard 3/4" board. It just happened to be lemonwood.
 

  Chief, here is a leather handle riser on an osage sapling bow. You can see the two pieces stacked to fill out the hand. I usually put a small oval on the back also. It makes it more comfortable for my hand around the handle.

This is the leather with superglue sealer. To get the leather smooth you sand it smooth, add more superglue and sand again. Do this until it's finished the way you want.

I pulled off what was left of my handle the night before last. It popped off half way, and then broke through the handle most of the other half way.
