250 lbs of obsidian in stock, trading for an Osage stave Now with pics

I currently have 250 lbs of obsidian that i gathered from glass butte Oregon. High quality rocks over here. I would like a cured Osage orange stave to work on. My draw length is 31 and a half inches, looking for a stave that would fulfill that draw.

Wow, that's a hella-draw!  Is it measured shooting a compound bow?  Your form is different with a primitive bow and you will be shocked to find your draw is much shorter, if this is the case?  On the other hand, if you are 6'4" tall and can tie your shoes without leaning over, then you sure got a long draw!

Oh, and you might wanna post pics of some of these rocks.  Everyone knows knappers can't read!

No longbows for me please. I don't really have in interest in those, but American indian shorties, Mongolian horn bows, Russian bows and Turkish bows is where my passion is. I'll definitly get some pics of obsidian posted tonight. 60" bow is as big as I will make them.

The native americans that used the short bows were probably a foot or more shorter than you are.  Due to your height and draw length you might want to be open to more styles of bows that will fit you better.  If you are 6'8" longbows are your friends     

I'm 5'6" on a good day and the short native american style bows fit me and my draw length perfectly.

Glad to see you posting up.  I hope you really consider shooting at a 64" bend through the handle design to start.  That will be plenty challenging.  Don't you want a dependable bow if you are going to put in the time?  Just sayin...

Several years back I taught an old student of mine to build an American Flat Bow out of Hickory.  He is 6"11 and draws 32".  The bow was 72" and was being pressed.

I have a good piece of Osage for you already with a chased ring. However, I would like to add that a Native American "shorty" will not support your draw length because they are not intended for that draw. PM me if you're intersted
