KY January Bow Workshop
« on: December 04, 2014, 12:32:45 pm »
The weekend of Jan 16,17,18 The Life Adventure Center here in Woodford County is hosting a wilderness survival and bow building workshop for military parent/teenage child.  They have the wilderness survival covered, but could use some leaders/instructors to help with the folks interested in the bow building.  Byron@Lifeadventurecenter.org or myself at joe.lacefield@ky.gov if you are interested.

There may be a possibility of getting paid or cuttting osage, etc. if that can sweeten the interest??

Of course the number of bowyers/instructors will be the limiting factor on how many get to participate in the bow making..

I know it's short notice, I just found out myself and am attending a planning meeting on Wednesday next week..

The wilderness survival part of this was going to be more than to allow time for bow building.  I'm going to introduce them to it by showing some bows at different stages and a follow up workshop committed to making a selfbow later in spring..  FYI, and thanks to all that offered to help.
