Turkey Bow
« on: November 21, 2014, 01:27:01 pm »
This bow came from a side split of Osage.  I  worked it just enough to get the exterior wood off.  It turned out to be 48 @27. 66ttt Them I decided to back it with something that I had plenty of and that was turkey feathers.  I started at the tips and selected two feathers from the neck area, then I selected two more the same size from a little further down the neck,  so on and so forth. Then at the grip I used two golden/copper tipped feathers from the tail. I used lin seed oil for the finish( I need to buy tru oil).  It is a crappy sewing job but it holds the leather together.  it takes 1 1/2 after un-bracing.  This is my go two bow now.

Beautiful bend on that one, and the feathers just put it over the top.

I wholeheartidly agree. Very nice FD and the feathers are the bomb. I saw a squatch in the NW woods once....now I can say there have been at least 2 sightings, lol.   Danny

Thanks Everybody! ;D  I really appreciate the comments about tiller.  I think a beautiful tiller is what makes sets the bow off.

I have build many bows lately just don't have time to post.   I'll try to get some on the net soon.
