Vine Maple for character stave
« on: May 08, 2014, 03:41:18 pm »
I know its expensive to mail staves around, and i know many of you have a shed full of seasoned wood, but i also know theres
people here that would like to cross vine maple off their list.
I cut a bunch this past winter, mostly snaky, all tension wood, all in the 4-5" diam range.
I will post pics if theres any interest.
Im looking for some staves, of species that don't grow here (vancouver bc), and am only interested in character staves.
extreme snaky osage like that one blackhawk recently posted would be awesome obviously, but i am interested in anything really.
2-3 staves for 2-3 staves depending on size is probably ideal, for shipping costs. cheers, Ryan

If you want a snakey osage stave it's worth a heck of a lot more than VM ;D

Snakey osage is a highly prized item

I will let you know if I have any snakey Osage after I get it cut tomorrow. And maybe we could work a deal or something.

I sent a stave to Adam from Michigan to SK. Cost in the $90 USD range, just an FYI for you fella's.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.
