Earth Day
« on: April 22, 2014, 12:01:11 pm »
Today for science class and in honor of Earth Day I am having my kinder kids help me split a mesquite log destined for Pat B.  Pointing out that using our local natural resources and sharing them is good for the environment and for the earth.  Should be fun and exciting.

The cross was made by Diego out of palm that had frozen and the point was one that George gave me and Diego hid away.  It was the only thing I had in my class that I could use to demonstrate repurposing.

Dang, I wish I had you for a teacher, when I was in First grade!  Never went to Kinder Garten.  Child labor laws?  Uh.... it is not a business, and it is a ...... uh history project..... well, yeah, he gets the staves split, without sweating, and he can trade them at the classic..... Well, anyway, the kids are having fun, and learning, and will never forget the great teacher they had in Kinder Garten, and all the neat stuff he showed them.  In fact I do believe they will always be comparing their future teachers to him.  i doubt many will measure up. ;)

And for President's Day, he will wear a stovepipe hat, chinwhiskers, and have the kids splitting hickory rails whilst he reads the Gettysburg address!
