  I was recently gifted this bow by Half eye (Rich) and man is it a little stick of dynamite. I guess Rich could tell by some of my posts that I liked his bows and out of the kindness of his heart he made this for me. When I first received it never having shot a short bendy and feeling and seeing it's size I was quickly amazed by it's speed and power! The working curved tips make it sooo comfortable at full draw and hardly the slightest hand shock... Here are the specs:   
                                                                    Red Elm (slippery)
                                                                    56 1/2" ntn
                                                                    52@26"
                                                                    1" wide limbs tapering to 1/2" tips
                                                                    Weight: 11 ounces!
                                                                    Made from a home made fully quarter sawn board
                                                                    Finished with pitch and grease

That's a great looking bow.  I just am wrapping up a bow that I used his build along on.  The one about bringing the tips back.  The man knows how to make bows that's for sure . I love this site with all it's kind folks doing great gestures of kindness.  Great job Rich.

I can attest to the addictiveness of little bendy-handled bows. Caught the bug within a couple years of starting to carve my own bows, and while I've tried to kick it I keep coming back. That's a beautiful little bow, sweet and handsome in its simplicity.

That's a nice bow man!  I made a similar replica bow based off the same artifact with just a little more curve and no fur and it works pretty great. The Reflex/deflex draws really smoothly and makes short bows more comfortable to shoot.

Congrats on getting a genuine half eye bow Don, thats a beauty. I love the look of Rich's work and man is that one ever smooth looking at full draw, I can see why your enjoying shooting it.
 Rich sent me a hand full of his nice quarter sawn wood all cut to profiles and ready to scrape and tiller. Got one shooting so far and finish is drying on it as I type, I'll post it soon and then get after the rest of it. Hope I can do right on them all since Rich was so nice about offering them to me.
