Some recent leatherwork - knife sheath and arm guard
« on: March 27, 2014, 09:14:04 pm »
Just wanted to post a couple pics of some recent leatherwork because I know a couple of you guys are into that sort of thing, and I haven't had any bows to post for some time now.

The first is an armguard that I made for Cipriano as a small token of appreciation for some past items he's sent my way.

The second is a knife sheath that was made as part of a trade in which I snagged my first osage stave, which I'm really looking forward to working on.

Thanks for looking, feedback is always welcome :)

Wow! Great work.  Where did you get the hardware for the armguard?

You do good work, very clean and functional. How do you like the tek-lock? I've thought about getting a few but I never have.
PRIMITIVE ARCHERY what other way can you play with sticks and rocks all day and not look like a little kid

Hey, Cam... nice work! As usual.

I'm more anxious to see what you come up with on that osage stave you got!  ;)

Have you finished that big elm warbow yet? It's going to be shooting weather here someday soon. I wanna see that big girl fling some sticks!

Thanks guys  ;D

Adam - all of the hardware is from the local Tandy store - the eyelets, rivets, and boot hooks.

Duck - I probably would not use the Tek-lok myself, but it was provided for me to use for this project.  Not that there is anything wrong with them, they are very versatile and adjustable.  But I could accomplish something similar just using leather, and not have to shell out the $20-$25 for the clip.

Bubs and adb - I'm anxious to get back to making shavings, but it seems like there's always some other project that creeps in and takes priority.  One of these days...  ::)  ;)
