My 60# Osage Elk Bow – Finished Pics
« on: March 15, 2014, 09:08:43 pm »
I finished her up and sent about 100 arrows sailing through her!  Without a doubt my fastest bow to date!!  It was quite an adventure with this one from endless cracks early to initially coming in underweight, it’s been quite the rollercoaster ride.  But with some perseverance and a lot of input from this community I was able to bring her home beautifully!  I can't wait to venture into the CO mountains with her this September!

The Stats
  • 60# @ 27 and ½
  • 60’’ tip to tip
  • Cotton snakeskin backing
  • Sheep wool arrow rest
  • D50 Flemish twist string with beaver balls

Thanks so much for your help and support!

Build along is @: http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,45399.0.html
Thanks,
Rob - Wexford, PA

That came out real nice in spite of the issues you had to deal with on the bow. Hope you put a tag on an elk this fall, that bow will get it done. :)

You know the difference between really good looking people and really good looking bows?  Both can get by on their looks, but a really good looking bow often has pretty good performance stats to go with it!  I am referring to the bow in these photos, not the guy.  It's the bow that has the looks in this case!  PA is going to have to get by on skills!

I bet this bow will do more than turn heads, brother bowyer.  I just bet!
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

Nice work!
