The average for my thumbtacks is about 7.5 grains.  So 20 thumbtacks = 150 grains.

5.6 casing way to heavy.. 9mm handgun casing 148 grains federal casing

     If you have access to a .308 round, if someone in your unit has an m14 try to get one of those bullets, as they are 148 grains.  Or any of the above suggestions.  I would  think that a fired 5.56 casing would be somewhere around that.
