Bamboo Hunting Arrows
« on: October 30, 2013, 09:39:56 pm »
I made these arrows using the garden stake build along on this site. They came out great and fly true. The fletching is guinea fowl feathers that i picked up at a craft store. The points are my usual sheet metal points and the bindings are made from arti sinew and super glue. I added some red paint to spice things up a bit. All in all, these are my best set to date.

Nothing wrong with good old self arrows made by you out of the best and cheapest means available. You did a great job and definitely won't have to ever worry about an arrow stash if you can master straightening the best nature has to offer.

Good job!!
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

I got a guinea fowl in my freezer (don't ask and I won't have to go into the Witless Protection Program).  I believe that foul fowl will be decorating some arrows soon!  Nice shooters, bud.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

CORIUS,
I like the 2 fletch on there, they have pretty markings. And looks like everything is very securely wrapped. What's your arrow weigh?

Look good to me!  Just a thought...looks like you might have used the "full strand" of artificial sinew for your wrapping.  You can take half the fibers and strip it all the way out then twist it into a really thin, strong, accurate strand.  Great work.
