Getting started
« on: September 14, 2013, 03:23:09 pm »
Thought today I would get some tools I ordered to start knapping. I got a kit from 3 Rivers Archery to get me started. Unfortunately, the post office sent it across the state on accident, so now I have to wait until Monday to get started.

My wife has done some knapping so she should be able to get me going fairly quickly(I hope). She claims her weakness is pressure flaking, so I'll likely have to turn to a few of you when the time comes for advice there. I'm really excited for this!

Sounds like your ready :). That Ishi sticking is an art in itself. Would be good to get with somebody on that or you could do indirect like Patrick shows in his utubes @ allergic hobbit.
When you come upon a track or trail you do not know, follow it to the point of knowing.
