"Twisted Sister Osage" Static
« on: December 02, 2007, 05:23:19 pm »
Well it couldn't quite finish this one in November, sooo,I stayed home from hunting and here she is.I took this piece of wood off the bellyside of a bigger stave.I would have never thought it would have so many dips, twists and pin knots. Not to mention the hole in the limb.I just about wore out a heat gun trying to line up the string.I'd tiller her one way and she'd fight me.Kinda reminded me of my daughter when she was 14.I was determined to straighten this girl out and finally she turned into a fast and straight shooter.
She is 58" nock to nock, 52# @28".It is almost center shot, through tillering and heat gun.I added a piece in the handle area to the belly and back to build it up,and it feels real comfortable now. I wrapped it in soft rawhide and you can feel the handle start to bend at full draw.I like that,it tells you when you are "There".The tip overlays are Purpleheart and moose antler.
I think since the weight is light I'll use it in 3-D shoots.

That is a realy cool bow. I like it. At first glance I thought you killed a bear in the second pic. lol.  :D
By the way that agave quiver you sent has  been on many hunts here in WI. works great.
