I used to buy the 6 footers from Bamboo and Rattan Works on the east coast. They went out of business this year after over 100 years!    It's easier to find an arrow shaft within 6 feet than buying something shorter, plus you have plenty of stir sticks for paint left over!

I bought one last load of Rattan from em, for Kids Bows, the month before they closed their doors.
The man told me "we are retiring, Happily"...
