Got a Duck knife in the mail
« on: August 14, 2013, 09:32:14 pm »
I got a surprise package in the mail today.  I couldn't figure out what it was.  I opened it up and found a super cool gut hook skinner.  I knew immediately who it was from, Cardboard Duck.  We had been talking about doing a trade at next years Classic, a knife for some osage.  He sent me a drawing a day or two later of this knife.  I hadn't told him what I wanted, but he nailed it.  Last fall I almost bought a skinner knife just like this but couldn't justify the cost.  It was like he read my mind.  I guess he couldn't wait until next spring and I'm glad he didn't.  This knife is exactly what I have been wanting.  I can't wait to use it on some deer this fall.  I guarantee it will get blood on it.  Thanks again Duck.  I owe you one  ;)

Maybe Duck will fill in the details on the materials.

I'm just glad you like it man :)

It's 1/8" Aldo's 1084 carbon steel heat treated by me.
3.25" blade and 7.5" overall
Brown linen micarta handle with aluminum pins.
I filed and sanded it all by hand (I did use my porta-band to cut the shape :) )

I did take some pictures of it before I sent it... Hope you don't mind me posting them...
