yup owl for sure! I had one hit my truck one morning on the way to work this past winter...cost me a driving light and a new "bumper" (plastic) on my truck.  Bugger was in full dive at something in the ditch and i crossed his path at the wrong time.

Yes its an owl feather, looks molted as well. I always admire them when I see them but let them lay where they fell . I recently saw some buzzard feathers under a roost an was suprised how pretty they actually are as well. Im such a bird lover that just seeing such things in the wild is a real treat!
Last week on a walk through the woods a coopers hawk flew right over my head with a squirrell in its talons. Was an amazing sight.

IndianGuy I had the PRIVELAGE of watching a Coopers take out a full grown drake Woody.....in flight! Then he ate his breast meat while he was alive. The duck had half his breast gone and was still alive after 30 minutes. The Coopers eventually dragged the duck into the woods and stashed him under a dead fall. Ill never forget that 45 minutes of my life.

Yep, from the look of that "fuzzy" edge I'd say owl too.  Might want to post a picture of it on the ground and not in your hand, though.   :)

Surely the Game Wardens have better things to do than stalk PA for owl feather picker upper picture poster. Say that 3 times fast.
