Cool topic, one my Dad always would say to me is "Anything worth doing is worth doing right" and I always have this in my contious thaught. Though it is hard for me to finish things before starting something new lead my grandfather to commonly say "You have to many irons in the fire"

There are so many great quotes on here, with so many positive sayings. I grew up with a military dad who was quite harsh most of my life. I always got the same two quotes from him unfortunately.

"if clues were shoes , you'd be barefoot"
"If brains were trains, you'd have missed yours"
This was usually followed by  a loud "you dough head"

I hated my dad for 37 of my 47 years, until an aunt flew in to my hometown, and helped with an "intervention", and got my dad and I to talk again. Only through the power of prayer,and a love of an aunt, could this have happened.
I say this not to be a downer, but to remind us as parents and grandparents of the power of positive (or negative) words.

    I have always enjoyed Mark Twain's wit.  He had a way of insulting you, and making it sound like a compliment.  Here are a few of his quotes.

I like the "washed in the blood." BUT can someone explain what it means?

My kindergarten class came up with Easy peasy frijolitos... They like that one.. And I ask almost daily to respond to a question, "does a bear live in the woods?" To which the answer with a smile, "yes he does."
