Simplicity at it's finest- Osage
« on: May 04, 2013, 01:21:02 pm »
I finished my hunting bow for next season. I wanted the basics for my personal hunting bow this year. I enjoy making bows with contoured grips, tip overlays and such, but lately I have been enjoying very simple pieces for my personal hunting bows. This one accomplished everything that I could have hoped for.  It is 55" long Osage, seasoned 3 years.  Gullwing shaped handle with flipped tips.  Simple deer skin grip and basic tips.  it is 55#+/-  @ 24".  I have been going through an odd situation with my draw length lately due to my shooting style, which I am ok with. I have been drawing 22" short draw for the last year but this bow has so little stack I have been drawing it 24" consistently and enjoying the extra speed out of the bow. This is one of those bows that acts as a true extension of your body and compliments me perfectly. pound for pound it is likely the fastest, hardest hitting bow I have made to date (153rd bow btw). even though it is so simple I had to share it with all of you. If the hunting Gods are good to me again, hopefully you will see it pictured again with a couple deer this year.

Absolutely amazing! very nice bow there! Even though i dont know that feeling of extention with a bow, i know it with a stick you find that balances well in your hand. It's a good feeling knowing that it works with you rather than against
