Little tip on wrapping the feathers ole boy. I use black silk thread, I clamp the shaft in a vice, padded with a soft rag. I clamp the shaft only tight enough to hold it, but loose enough that I can rotate it with my hand. Clamped too tight and you crack it, yes I've done that a couple times:) The vice is my third hand! I start at the nock end of the shaft, do a 1/4 inch solid wrap to strengthen the self nock area, but also wrap the base area of the nock with sinew later. Then as I start wrapping the feather, I go carefully through one feather then rotate the shaft so the next feather is facing up, while keeping tension on my spool of thread. I run the thread down through the next feather and check to see how my spacing looks. If it's not even, I'll back the thread up out and move it in the direction to make it even. Then rotate the shaft so the next feather is facing up. It's a tedious process but well worth it. Takes maybe 10 minutes to wrap the feathers. When done wrapping I soak both ends with super glue.
