This could be my last classic
« on: April 10, 2013, 01:40:20 pm »
I just wanted to take a minute and let all my friends and family on here at PA, that this not only might be my last classic, but a last for a lot of things.  I got my results back today, that I have been keeping from everyone about this because of the drama that I hate, but my sarcoidosis is back and full blown.  Meaning it is coming to the outside of my skin, and is also active in my lungs.  This explains the shortness of breath that I have been having since I stopped smoking, thinking it was the weight gain.  They now seem to think that it is also part of the problem with the light reflections in my eyes that causes me all kind of balance issures.  This is not a good thing to have because little is know about it as well as any treatment for it.  All I would ask is if you will, please say a prayer for me, as this time, I am going to need a lot of them.  They want to start some treatment on me, with little know of what the reaction might be, but I am not going to allow that to happen until after the classic.  So I have all intentions of meeting as many of you as I can, and having the time of my life this time at the classic.  Because of fearing the worst, this may be my last classic along with a lot of other things.

Thanks and God Bless
Charlie

So sorry to hear that, Charlie.  Wish you the best possible outcome on the treatment.

Bad news indeed.  My thoughts and best wishes for you in the future.

With regard to lack of knowledge about the illness and treatment - you might consider looking into cannabis oil and the positive effects it has on many many illnesses and diseases.  It surely wouldn't hurt to look into it as a possible natural treatment method.

All the best,

Steve.

Wishing you the best and hope and a prayer that you recover. Hang in there Charlie.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

Charlie:  Sorry to hear the news and our thoughts and prayers are with you.  Remind me at the Classic to talk to you about Sarcoidosis.  I was diagnosed with it when I was in my 30's.  It went into remission and has never come back.  I'm gonna be 50 soon.

Thanks all.  Matt, I was diagnosed in 1999 with it and at that time it was in my lungs.  They put me on Plaquenil for the length of time I could take it, because of sever side effects, and it went into remission and has flared up once since.  Now, over 1/3 of each of my lungs are all but gone and it appears it might be in my eyes now as well.  Just something else to deal with, but it is what it is and nothing I can do but deal with it.  Thanks everyone. See you at the classic.
