I'd almost be tempted to never fire an arrow out of that thing again.  One and only arrow nails a target at over 100 yards.  You can't top that.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

DLH, I have theory.  That log laid around in that ravine for years wishing some day to be bow.  Then a naive would-be bowyer finds her and give her to a master, who turns her into a work of art.  AND THEN, she get's to come home in all her glory.  Well, Miss Bluegrass Hole just had to show off a little.  Kinda like Miss America taking a fine turn on the stage after getting her crown.

It was the bow.

The humanities grew out from archery as a flower from a seed
No sooner did the soft, sweet note of the bow-string charm the ear of genius than music was born, and from music came poetry and painting and..." Maurice Thompso

Imagine if blackhawk could get his hands on some good bow wood like....say, yew.  Instead of this second string, crappy, half rotted, knot-hole riddled osage!   >:D

It is truly amazing to see what a master can do with a piece of junky wood most wouldn't even mess with!  The vision blackhawk has when he looks at a piece of wood is impressive.

That's a beautiful bow, and the story behind it is great, your first shot, priceless!

The entire story, of strangers becoming friends, sharing knowledge, trading goods, life long memories, that really makes this "hobby" and site, a special place.

As my golfing buddies say when I manage to bomb one off the tee...now that's just stupid!

Hawkman, that thing is gorgeous.

Hedge, I can only imagine how it felt to get that piece of art handed back to you.

Man, I love this place, I don't think life gets much better than the stories of comradery and generosity exemplified by the individuals on this site.

Awesome...

Very cool back story and bow, truly worthy of the word 'awesome'.
