how to get blood off white feathers?
« on: February 09, 2013, 09:04:54 pm »
appreciate any help here,
have a buddy that was trying to get his wife to hold a turkey(White) tight while the head was lopped off,
but ,well, it got away from her and ....well the wing feathers got bloody. is there a trick to removing blood from white feathers?

Rinse with water. If not, bleach water. Might be a unique barring if left to dry and fletched.

You can wash it off with warn soapy water then blot them dry and steam them to reshape.

thanks,
dishwashing liquid and warm water seemed to take MOST of the blood out
but still some brown stains...old blood left on sure stains white feathers!

the peroxide helped remove a little more of the brown stain.

cock feathers? yep!    actually it was the plan anyhow,
a set of viburnum shoot arrows with bared (and white) with bronze points i had a friend of mine cast.
i'm enjoying these leaf shaped bronze tips...much easier to pull out from a round bale than points with barbs.

Glad we could help a little. Got any pics of the points your using? Would love to see them.

I like blood on my feathers. I just dust them off when the blood dries and carry on. ;) ;D ;D
