This morning I cut splices into each limb and glued them together. I checked the alignment after the joint was pinned and it is perfect. So far so good…

Got my my plan c floor tillered yesterday and today i got the tips aligned and reflex evened out. My plan b never made it to floor tiller bcause i had a major brain fart while on the band saw. I now have half of a dogwood bow from plan a, and half a hickory bow from plan b. Might just splice em together and see what it ends up like and call it a hickwood bow  ;). Plan on starting to long string plan c wednesday. Hopefully ive used up all my stupid mistakes till this ones finished. Am planning on having it at least finished enough to do final shooting in at the classic. Hmm.......maybe my victim will show up and unknowingly help with any final adjustments. >:D

Got a call from UPS the other day and they have a package for me. I live rural an had a PO box listed and they dont deliver to PO boxes. Will pick it up in Wichita Friday. Looking forward to it.
I got motivated to get started on my trade bow and went out to the woodshed. Was diggin around in my stacks of golden staves and found one from the first batch of osage I had cut when I first got into this thing back in 2006. It is really clean 1/8-3/16 avg ring, good early to late ratios. Has a slight twist and delex on one end, 69" long right now. I think I will build it 62"/55@27. take out the twist and line things up. have a little relex and slightly flip the tips. Maybe some buff horn tip overlays for eye candy.
Killed a nice copperhead 31" and a milk snake at 60" the other day in the woodpile.First of the season.  I think this bow is gonna get the milk snake with and black and orange scale pattern. It should look pretty cool. i will post progress as we go along.   Danny

Had some time to work on my trade bow.  Here are some pics on the tillering wall.  She's firey red osage, one big character knothole just outside of the handle on the upper limb.  Solid knot in the same place on the lower limb.  Final stats are 45# @ 28 inches.  Now to pretty her all up...
