i'm kind of excited to soy the two sinewed bows I did before were quite a while ago and while they survived I wasn't happy with the final product
o.k. Matt,
I only make Keebler bows for Keebler elf's rich >:D
sounds good pearlie, you start yours in a month and they might be done at the same time ::)
simson I just wanted to get a good even bend going but i'm no expert on sinewed bows, what do you guy's that sinew bows do, I kinda thought part of the reason of the sinew is protection from breakage so I didn't want to risk tillering it out to far on a short draw , using Ishi's way of measuring it came out 55 1/2" ttt and drawing similar to him I figured 26" draw

Cool!!
"The bow is the old first lyre,
the mono chord, the initial rune of fine art
The humanities grew out from archery as a flower from a seed
No sooner did the soft, sweet note of the bow-string charm the ear of genius than music was born, and from music came poetry and painting and..." Maurice Thompso

Looks good Bub. I have never worked with Ash before so I can't speak with experience about it. I will try to get a good floor tiller before I lay down the sinew when I'm doing it. I don't think you were taking too big of a chance with a 26" draw on a 55" bow IMO. The bow I just put sinew on is 48" and I'm gonna shoot for 26" of draw myself. I reflexed mine while putting the sinew on though. If you haven't put your sinew on yet I recommend reflexing it some with the length of bow you are making.

GOOD LUCK BUB, I'm finishing up another ash with a thin Ipe back, for the youngest son-inlaw. I'll post it up soon.

Very nice Bub. I like it.

got a couple of courses of sinew on the bow this afternoon, i'll fill the low spots in a few days and then let it set for a couple of weeks, put about 1 1/2" of reflex in it as well, Bub
