Howdy from Central PA
« on: November 20, 2012, 03:40:44 pm »
Hello from an Okie transplanted into the foreign land of the north!  Just wanted to poke my head in and introduce myself.

I've target shot compound bows ever since I was little, but just started really getting into the idea of building my own bows and going bow hunting.  I'm learning the ropes and hope that I'll eventually be able to make something that'll throw an arrow downrange :P

I'm an engineer by trade, so I usually follow the old saying: "If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing" and I hope y'all can put up with all my stupid questions here at first, cause this is something totally new to me, but DANG! it looks exciting.

Welcome Brandon. Sorry you had to move up north but at least you won't be as hot and dry during the summers.  ;D
The only dumb questions are the ones you don't ask.   I think it would be best if you take your engineers hat off while on PA. Otherwise it will be hard to teach you anything!  ;D
Not much to this bow building stuff. You should have plenty of good bow wood in your area so get some cut and split so it can be drying while we teach you how to build a bow.
Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!    Pat Brennan  Brevard, NC
