I have a question for you Briar, what was the starting dimensions for the belly taper? I'm working on one that is very similar, just a bit shorter at 64". I'm just unsure on what to start it at. I'm looking at a 50#@28".

Mike,
I roughed it out to 5/8 inch thick and went from there.

I was fortunate enough to see this bow in person while getting some newbie instruction. All I can say is "wow!". The pics dont do it justice. Nice job, Briar. Hope to get back up that way soon.

Agreed, no criticism necessary on that tiller. And the landscape is nice too. Looks like simple living out there.

Thank you fellas.
The living is quite simple and I love it. I am fortunate enough to have electricity and running water

I want to shoot your Dad's bow! Looking at that makes me want to go to the shop and start on a LONG bow for a change. I bet it shoots sweet. Tiller looks great and that sure is pretty country.

Thanks again folks.
Soy, I felt the tips were to thick but I didn't want to grind off the little patch on walnut on top. Wound up being pretty happy with it after the finish was on.
