Cold weather is here.
« on: November 01, 2012, 04:25:54 pm »
I haven't been knapping much lately cause of the cold weather and where my "pit" was setup. So I got busy last night and moved the bench inside my workshop and started a fire in the stove.

In the process of making more gravel these 2 burlington points fell out of some rocks I had laying around. Not as thin as I had hoped, but nice color none-the-less.

John- yes we are! Much rather this colorful stuff than some other parts of the country.

Rob - I don't "dig" it (although John Bybee tried to get me to dig some for him) but I do pick up my own rocks. Mostly in a creek bed that I have access to.

Don - thanks, wish I could!   ::)

Thanks all! I'll try to get a few more posted up here soon. Daughter might be sick tmw so I may have to stay home from work in the morning.

Here's a few more I've been workin on this weekend. Funny story about this knife, my daughter wanted to do a "project" so I let her pick out the pieces and then help with assembly. She then had the idea that it was her gift to give and shortly decided mommy would be the recipient. So after working all weekend to put it together we walked in and handed it over last night. My wife was appropriately excited then turned to me with that "what do I do with this now" look. After a fair amount of mirth, I whispered in her ear that we could figure it out later.  :laugh: ::)
