Knots in the fades?

I'm working on one of my mulberry staves and I've got a knot in the fade. This one's a shorty (49") and I've got the limbs at 3" wide for the moment. I'm going to thin them down soon, but not a lot; perhaps an inch. I know mulberry is strong, but I'm concerned about shaping the fades with that knot in one of them. I want to get a full 28" draw on this non-bendy-handle shorty.
Advice, gentleman?

As long as the fades are not bending much, you should be in the gravy.

Wow, you're quick J.W.
LOL. I was still editing for clarity. I tend to edit after posting so I know how it looks on the page.
Kay, so as long as the fades aren't working too much, I'm okay. So, I guess I'll be leaving even more meat on that one.
Thanks.

As you type out your dialog box, take peek down below. In between Post and Spell Check is a button called Preview. It allows you to look at just how the post will look when finished. I love it for when I am posting pics and commentary.
Are you making a 22" draw bow for a kid? Anything more than that and you will see some hefty set in the limbs.

Sweet on the preview thing.
No, it's not for a kid. The stave has about six inches of natural reflex (or is it deflex? I always mix the two), so I'm expecting it to not have much string follow. I could be wrong, but that's also why I'm keeping the limbs wide.

that's a whole lot of bend for very little working limb, 2" wide and the limbs are gonna be paper thin, is it gonna be sinew backed? with a 8" handle/fade section you only have 20.5"of limb, that's alot for a 28" draw, good luck, Bub

Well, I want it to have a full draw. I may not be able to get what I want, though.
Cuz that never happens, right?

unless you recurve the last 3" into 90 degree statics, sinew back, and have an anomoly piece of wood, and are a seasoned bowyer, you then prob wont be able to get a 28" draw with that dude. and even a master bowyer wood have a heck of a time achieving that. enough said

Well, I am most definitely not a master bowyer. Yet. (Someday, though)
*shrugs
It's still a learning experience. I guess I'll just have to be satisfied with less, for now.
Thanks for the advice.

That is too short for a 28" draw. You'll probably snap it like a twig. No problem on the knot in the fade. Jawge
