For Trade, Vibram FiveFingers Bormio, New in The Box.
« on: September 14, 2012, 03:46:35 am »
Hi Y'all,

I have a Brand New pair of Vibram FiveFingers Bormio in size 42, Kangaroo uppers up for trade.

Had the Hots for a pair of these for a while.
Found this pair on Vibram's site and really thought they'd fit.
I wear a 40 and they're fairly tight so I thought what the heck with a normal thickness sock I should be
good to go... Wrong!   :(
They came in yesterday pulled on the socks then a boot and No Go, not even close, no way to make them work.
looking around the net I don't see any in 40, or any more in 42 for that matter...
So no hope of exchanging them for the right size.

Which brings me to think of possibly trading them here.
If anyone would be interested in this pair let me know...
I have a couple of days before I'll need to return them, which I'll do if they don't get traded...
Just for an idea of value they retail for 160.

I'm really looking for staves, Yew, Osage, Vine Maple and Ocean Spray are the main woods that I'm after.
Or maybe a good pair of high top Hunting Moccasins?

I'm attaching a photo for folks that are unfamiliar with Vibram or the Bormio.

Thank You for looking.

That's too bad, I really like them too. I wear a 45 in them. I have a store near me that's got them. You could try contacting them. The Running Store, Bloomington, Indiana. Good luck !

I hear ya Boughnut...

Was thinking Stalking Shoe as well when I saw them...
I wear a size 9 boot.

It kills me that my idea about fitting into these ran off the tracks.
The Kangaroo uppers, properly taken care of, should last.

Thank You for the heads up Tracy.
Once I get over feeling like a Goof Ball for Wishing myself into a pair of shoes... I'll start tracking a pair of 40's.
In the back of my mind I knew better... one of these days I will starting listening to that inner voice.  :)

If I had a U.S. sized 8 foot, I'd be all over that trade.  They really do look like the perfect stalking show.

But you mentioned wearing socks with them....you got some of those vintage 70's rainbow toe socks?

I suggest trying these shoes on first cause of the European sizing. Same deal with cycling shoes. I wear mine to teach in all day and the. Come home and knapp in the pit. Feel like I'm cheating somehow. Good luck!

Gus, I'm not familiar with this Europian sizing system. If I normally wear a 10 1/2 medium but actually need a narrow and wear a 10 B Russell Moccasin boot and shoe that fit perfectedly , how close would these caltraptions fit?

Hah!

No Sir JW, I didn't sneak a pair of my wife's rainbow socks out of her sock drawer...
I was wearing the glove liners outta my old Army Gloves.  :)

Yes Sir Tracy, you're  right about the sizing being different.
The size calculator on Vibram's web site said I needed a 38.
Sun and Ski Sports here in town carries Vibram FiveFingers, they measured me at 38 as well,
however the attendant recommended a size 40.
They were correct in my case, a size 40 shoe fits me fairly snug.
I'm wearing the SPYRIDON LS now.
The potential for sure footed stepping is definitely there.

Got the Komodo LS and love them. I loved the Bormio as well when I saw them.

Cool things.  I have some students running in them.  I have been running barefoot for the past 2 years but have not broken down and bought shoes to run bare foot in  :o  ???  I think I may get a pair though so I can run more easily when snow flies.
