I'm sure that is a sweet sweet shooter.Everything about it is.Very nice job.I know I hav'nt sent in pics of my bows ever to confirm I am or try to be a bow maker.Someday I'll get down to your gathering there. As many bows as you make you must be hard on the snake population somewhere.Great job.

Thanks John and Beadman you would be welcome anytime, Love to see some pictures of your work. I really don't build many bows anymore,I am involved in a lot but don't build many start to finish. A few to hunt with each year and that's about it. :) Thanks for the complaments.  :)

Nice bow Pappy.  Is it Canadian Osage?  I picked some up a few years ago that's about 20 years old.  Thin rings and a bit of character but the wood is good.

Thanks Guys.No Marc it came from Ohio,a Canadian friend gave it to me but got it in Ohio.  ;) ;D ;D It was about as clean a piece of Osage as I have ever seen, good rings and exceptional ratio between winter and summer growth.  :)
youngbowyer it is pretty fast for the length and size bow but what I like about it is how sweet and smooth it shoots,I wanted a good [little overbuilt] tough bow just for my hunting and this fits the bill for that.  :)

Part of the family,it's a pup and we are in the training faze, belongs to Woody a good friend and TwinOaks member,he is doing very good,we let him track Beau's doe and also this one. We raised them for years for Deer tracking but haven't had one in a while. Very handy once trained for hard tracks but you need to get them on some easy ones first. :)

There are lots of "pay offs" in making wooden bows, finding that just right tree to cut, getting a bow out of a tough stave, picture perfect bend when your done, handing it off to a friend, and loosing an arrow on opening day that finds the mark.  You will have accomplished most of those with this one.  Congrats!
