Sapwood on Hickory?

I know this question has been on here before, but I forget what I read sometimes.  You leave the sapwood on hickory, don't you???

Sapwood of hickory is the only part you want to use. Just peel the bark and cambium and that is your bow back.

Lester. are you clear on what sapwood is? In the case of hickory sap wood is the white wood while heartwood is the dark wood. Hickory will normally have a very thick layer of whitewood, normaly sevral inches thick. Steve

What Pat and Steve said.Here is a picture of the sap and heart wood. :) Usually you can split the heart wood off like a belly split. :) :)
