The smoke in my eyes is not from the canp fire!
« on: May 16, 2012, 04:53:41 pm »
Fellows, I have made a few good shootable bows over the years and taken my share of game with them, but nothing I have ever done compares to the beautiful hand made bows I see on this site, on such a consistent basis. Too numerous to name all of you but my hat is off to all of you and I am happy knowing that the sport of making and shooting bows, that I have loved since I was a child, has such a good future! I was asked to post some of the guns I have made. I am happy to do so and would be glad to answer any questions you might have.
This is the latest of my bench and is a Tennessee Mountain rifle, or Hog Rifle.

This is suppose to represent a Moravian type rifle made by a like minded individual from that community.

Then sometimes I get a little carried away!

Double barrel rifle, flintlock, of course! ;)

Thanks for looking.

No doubt.  A little humility is a very good thing, but in this instance I think it's perfectly fine to strut around a little.

Amazing!  How long have you been making them?  I made one a few years ago, and let me tell you, it looks NOTHING like any of those.  You're a wonderful craftsman!

Outstanding!  I like alot!  I'll bet your bows are better than you think.  I like the hog rifle because it is simple but elegant at the same time.  Wood and steel look nice.

The last photo almost popped my left eyeball out and caused the right one to swivel around like a carnival ride!  Wow!  A double rifle!

Can I put in an order for a Leonard Day style swivel-breech double flinter?  One rifled barrel and one smooth barrel, both in .50 caliber?  I'll make you a bow for it!  I've never made a bow worth $3500 before but I'm willing to try.   >:D

Exquisite workmanship every last one of 'em.  The deer would just lay down and die out of sheer respect for those guns.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

Those my friend are absolutely amazing. Some of the finest work I've ever seen.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.
