Linseed oil and heat treating

Is it a bad idea to heat treat the belly of a bow that has linseed oil applied? Do I need to have fire extinguishers at hand?

I ask the question because the label on the bottle says 'avoid contact with clothes - spontaneous combustion is possible'    What's this stuff going to do when I hold my bow over the gas cooker? (That's how I'm planning to do it, sorry didn't mention that)

My brother and I tested how flamable linseed was by burning a small cloth in the old firepit that was used to apply linseed. Didn't burn well. I have used heat onto linseed, and it doesn't catch but it does burn a little, making it black. I usually just sand it off and then heat it, looks prettier that way

I've heated it till it smokes with a heat gun. Didn't catch fire. Not likely to do any more than that using an open flame

if i understood it correctly, spontaneous combustion can only happen while the oil is drying.  it's the vapors, that are so flamable.  once the oil is dry, it should be safe.
