Finely got her skinned
« on: January 09, 2012, 08:52:57 am »
Got the skins on the snaky Osage I have been working on a while,I shot it a bunch Friday evening and again Saturday before I commented to the skins,A nice set of Timbers, the other stave's that came out of this tree didn't make it so I was
a little worried,I had one issue in one of the heavy snakes but got that problem fixed,it seem to be doing fine.It tillered out 46 @26 after shooting in and held about 1 1/2 inch of reflex. ,just right for me,very sweet to shoot.I hope to get it all finished up in a few weeks. :)here is a little peek. :) I also blacked the back of the bow,it really makes the skins stand out.I do this to most of the bows I skin. :)

Bow!? That REALLY does look like a snake! It is obvious a LOT of hard work has gone into that piece of wood. Absolutely incredible!

Seen a lot of snaky bows in my time but yours is the the most spectacular I have ever seen.  Never seen one with that much character.

Extra extra  beautiful bow.Outstanding labor of love. Not to downplay this any but I was just wondering what a bow like that weighs mass weight wise at your 46#@26?How long is it?Super hunting bow.A person ought to get within 5 yards of a whitetail with that one LOL.

Thanks guys,HoBow I usually just use a large magic marker. Beadman I am not sure on the mass weight but I will check it and see, It is 62 n-n I think ,maybe 61.
It shoot a 600 grain arrow pretty quick, usually bows like these are not the greatest performers [Plenty good for me] but not the best if that is what a person is after but I have had really good luck with longevity if they make it through the
tillering and shoot in process.  :) :) :)

Is it a snake? Is it a bow?
Brilliant :)

Pappy that is one of the nicest snake bows that I've ever seen. Didn't know that I was going to fall in love when I got on PA this morning. Incredible bow, Can't wait to see her bending. Great choice on the skins. After looking at some of your bows up close I'm sure it's very detailed and top notch as always
