Bone Handle Knives?

I was planning on making a knife with a bone handle, and make the blade with a tang on it to go inside of the bone and use pine pitch glue to hold it in place. I was wondering if you guys can post pictures of your knives showing you hafting techniques. Thanks.

Bushman, I don't have highspeed intranet, but I just looked @ a couple of the old threads by typing in flint knife or flint blade and there were some pics of some really nice work.  If possible, try to use real sinew, if not, no worry. I don't always use it, but when I have it, it really looks good and holds great.

Here are a few of mine,knives and hawks.There all all kinds from leg bone to  deer and elk antler. Real sinew works the best but any thread will do,I also like pitch glue but have used epoxy/super glue/hot melt or what ever is handy to hold the blade till I get it rapped. As you can tell I love knives. Jesse made me this rack,it is pretty cool also.

Pedernales point mounted to elk leg bone.  Pine pitch + beeswax + sawdust for glue.

WHOA!!  Those are great, what a collection.  I'm gonna have to show my wife that so she'll stop asking my why I need another knife.  Man, I'm gonna have to look @ them again.  Those hawks are killers!!

Jackcrafty, your's is sweet to.  No wrap just pitch glue?

Yep, just glue.  There are knives like this (very rare surviving examples) with only asphaltum holding the stone point to the handle.  I assume pitch glue was also used in this way.
