Redfish skin for bow backing?

Anyone ever use Redfish skin for bow backing? Is it anygood? How's it look?

Iv tanned some red fish it turns grey and loses the prety gold color

Cipriano,

I have a couple of skins in the Freezer that I plan to do some testing with.
But still have to scrape and dry them to Rawhide first... :)
They are pretty thick and tough, who knows?

I think they would make a good backing but I was bummed when saw them turn grey GL Gus I hope you can figure out how to keep them gold colored it would make a pretty color if the stayed true
