knappin again

always seems like i start knapping this time of year. after really screwin up some rock for a couple days i remembered how. heres a few points all mahogany or whatever ya call it from o.t.. started some others from some texas chert i got from another fella. peace

thanks alot guys. the thing that kills me is i get a lot of steps at first. then once i cure that i always manage to break the tip trying to go too thin. then it sort of all clicks. peace

Yep, that's Mohogany. Nice lookin points, and fun to make - if you have the time. I've learned just like everything else that if you break a few you just have to put it down and come back later. I see by that one laying on the ground there you persisted.

I break the tips off of plenty.  I work the tip back to a point and save them in my tool box to give to kids when they stop to watch.  Justin

i do the same for the boy scouts. they ask every year if i could make arrows for an awards ceromony. so the underweight go to them

heres what i did this week. now i think im done for a while . lol. . the odd looking thing i usually dont make cause i wont use em and i usually break em anyway but that one was screaming for me to do something different. some of the bigger ones will be taken down so i can hunt with em.  peace dick give me a ring when your coming up.
