First forged knife
« on: June 28, 2011, 10:25:37 am »
Forged this one out of a bar of 1084 using a 2 brick forge and a post anvil.  Been wanting to try the paracord wrap for a little while, so I thought this one would be a good one to give it a shot on.  It's not nearly as nice to look at as a piece of spalted wood, but dang it feels nice in my hand.

Looks good. i would carry it for sure.

Very nice Jonathan. Bring it along to the camp-o-rama...and bring your forge, anvil and tools.  ;)

Thanks again everybody.  Got my first hidden tang on the bench right now that I'm filing away on.  Hope to have it done in the next couple of weeks, but with everything I've got going on it may not happen.

Sure thing Pat, I can bring them along.  That's one good thing about being limited to a brick forge and post anvil, they're not too difficult to move.

I want to see your forge so I can build one for myself. I have a section of RR track I can use for an anvil and a couple of smithing hammers.

Under the spreading chesnut tree the village smithy works.  ;D  Unfortunately we have no more spreading chesnut trees!  :(
