oak board bow

 I have a rift sawn oak board bow very close to being finished. It pulls right now 51# at 27", and has about 1 5/8" of string follow. It's a pyramid style bow 2" at the fades tapering to 1/2" tips. If i sinew back it will this help take out the set/string follow? this is only my 8th bow and only the third that has stayed together this far. any help would be welcomed

If you want my honest opinion, I think that bow is done. Sand it and shoot it in and it should be close to 50# at 28". 1 5/8" set is fine, nothing wrong with that, but if you really do want to remove some set, you can try heat treating the belly.

I've never made a sinewed back bow, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if you add sinew it will take some set out but will also raise the weight of the bow.
