oh and if you havnt heard any of Chad Slagle's stuff, check that out to. (think i spelled his name right.)

Yep, Chad has some great stuff recorded, great songwriter, great voice. Not to mention he's a helluva guy to sit and play guitars with 'til 5:30 AM in the middle of an epic flood. :D
Here is some of how that night started out." EPIC FLOOD MUSIC" :o :o

Have you listened to anything from Dan Crary? His Jammed If I Do album has some awesome music on it. He is sitting around having conversations and jams with the likes of Doc Watson, Tony Rice, among others.

Drive-by Truckers (Alt-country-rock.) Maylene and the Sons of Disaster (Southern Swamp metal.) That'll keep you busy for awhile.
I can agree with those.  Drive by truckers I like a lot.
Happy hunting to all!

Dave MAtthews Band has been my fav since 6th grade.  Everything from rocking hard to really slow, chill music.  They are the most talented group of musicians in a long time.  They havea  HUGE catalogue so if you don't like these there will be something you like

How about Brantley Gilbert? love alot of his songs. kinda country/southern rockish? Hell on wheels, kick it in the sticks, Take it outside, and Country Wide are my favorite songs from him. he has some really good lovey-dovey songs to for all you emotional cave men.

Another metal band worth mentioning, The Sign of the Southern Cross from Asheville, NC.  Kind've a Pantera sort of vibe.

Good country recommendations too, everybody.  Some I've heard and some I haven't.  Ya'll should definitely check out Jamey Johnson if you haven't, he's a great singer and songwriter.

Also, I'm sure most of you have heard Shooter Jennings, but if you haven't heard his new album with his band Heirophant it's worth checking out.  I saw them open for Alice in Chains last year and they sounded great.  It's very different from what he was playing, but still worth a listen.

Shooter rocks. I've seen him live, and he puts on a helluva show. Haven't heard his new band yet.

Progress might have been all right once but it's gone on for far too long.
