First point
« on: February 15, 2011, 01:32:53 pm »
Well after drooling over all the points and blades here you guys do, and with the christmas gift of some knapping tools and material from my brother (maddog314 on here) I got to get started, kind of.
This is just some blue glass and after breaking about 2lbs. of glass give or take I finally got this one to come out looking like a point.
This is sure fun and it won't be the last. I just need to get some more material to work with. If I can get this down I'll be all primitive for turkey and deer this year!

Oh yeah! I like it... I sent Richard a case of points made from that obs he sent me and I am hoping he will send some more obs  this way soon. If he does we will split it and you can get some good practice. You should go to some local farms and rummage through the garbage dumps for old Clorox jugs.I am taking a drive to Globe Arizona in may and I am hoping I can do some rock hunting while I am there.. Keep up the good work..

Thanks guys. I am still working on getting my platforms set up right.
It's taking me a while to learn to plan several steps ahead and I get
myself into a corner sometimes. But I've probably learned more trying
to get myself out of those corners.
Getting ready to haft my second one up today. I'll try to post it tomorrow.

Way to go Mark! Keep it up. As afore mentioned that is a great point and some cool blue glass!
