Last of the elm boards.
« on: May 06, 2007, 10:24:33 am »
I have finished up the last of my elm boards with this bow, it is 66" long, 55# at 27", 1.5 at the fades and tapers down to .5" at the nocks. I had no real problem with the making of this bow and it shoots among my best. Since I have already made a bow similar to this one I wanted this one to be unique in its own way so I painted on the decorations are meant to be a dedication to Saint Sebastian, patron saint of archers. The inscription is a slightly altered slightly abridged version of the prayer of Saint Sebastian written in a second alphabit of mine that I use for certain entries in my journal. How does it look overall?

D.

Very cool!  I converted at 26.....so as an adult I was able to choose my confirmation name......I choose Sebastian.....after St. Sebastian.......as you said.....patron saint of archers.....

Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder's eye on the Last Day.

Nice work both with the bow and the design.  Got youbookmarked for May Self Bow of the Month, too.
