coyote question...
« on: December 14, 2010, 10:15:26 am »
Following on from the "public land bucks..." thread - I'm wondering what the general etiquette regarding 'yote hunting/culling is?

I know some tan the hides etc but I was wondering what happens to the rest of the kill?  Is coyote meat edible?  Or does it make good dinner for your own hounds?

I know there's not many on here that would hunt/kill just to waste it by leaving it where it dropped.  Just a thought that crossed my mind one sleepless night  :)

When I was in junior high, I was trapping raccoon , fox , muskrat , mink . I tried everything and did'nt care for the mink or fox. I would think 'yote is much like fox or dog (Had dog one time) fur only for me, off them weasels and canines.  '  Frank

http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,22117.0.html here is a thread about coyote.
I throw them away. I have eaten it and it doesn't taste bad. It is a lot like many other foods, the hard part is getting it past your mind.
