I went deer hunting on FT campbell yesterday in a area iv have not been in before. I was walking down a dry creek bed and it was loaded with flint. I have messed with the rock on ft campbell before and never found anything good. but i seen a cool looking piece and i grabbed it and it was heavy, very heavy. I grabbed 3 more pieces and put them in my pack. I did not test them in the field because i did not want to spook the deer by smacking rocks together.
I got home and the stuff works good and has some cool bulls eyes in it.
I made this cumberland out of a piece, The cumberland is 5 inches on the dot and fully fluted on both sides.
I cracked into another piece and it liked like a jaw breaker inside but one of the layers were separated and it fell apart before i could get it finished. I Cooked the flakes last night they will be cool enough to see if they tuck the heat or not by the time i get home. Here are some photos, the rock the cumberlands on is the stuff.
