hickory ipe and canebreak skins, full draw and handle pics added
« on: September 19, 2010, 10:49:18 pm »
this is a bow i glued up several weeks ago and just got the time to finish its hickory and ipe two lams . 64 inches tip to tip 1 3/8ths at fade 3/8th and nocks. handle is three thin strips of hickory and the skin is a canebreak rattler (roadkill) that i split down the middle and then spliced at the handle so one snake two limbs. this one finished 49lbs at 28 iinches. glued cured enough by dark that i could brace it but ill do full draw tomorrow just to make sure its cured completely. pics are in the dark so go easy on me !

SON,
That is one sexy lookin "classic" bow, for sure. I really like the limb tip treatment, looks like long pyramids, or cones.....look sweet. Them mid-60's longbow shapes are just too nice.
