New bow for nephew.
« on: September 04, 2010, 11:36:58 am »
Ayup all :)

Been a while since i had chance to get some bow scraping done but i did manage to finish a bow for my nephew. You lot helped me with the tiller a while back. It was never going to be a heavy bow but it was going to be perfect for my nephew
Its about 30lbs at 22 inch but tillered out to 27, 64 ntn if i remember, wych elm again. The black leather handle is just an off cut from an old sofa which was made up to its thickness with other scraps of leather. The tiller could be better but there was very little wood left to play with.
Just have to knock up some arrows for him now.
thanks all.

nice looking stick  ;)

the pic on the tiler tree,is the bottom limb to the left
if so i dont really see anything wrong with it
you want the lower limb a bit stiffer any how, atleast thats what i shoot for on a tiller
i always wanted a harley, untill it became the "thing to ride"
i ride because i love to,not to be part of the crowd

Yeah bottom is left and thanks.:)

I think it just could have bent a little more in the last bits of limb before the recurve. But if iremoved any more wood he would be out-growing it in no time at all.
