thanks for posting that link, i now have a rattan bow added to my to do list. looks very cool too, never wouldve thought rattan would make a full weight bow.

Matthias,

It looks like you used the rind for the back of the bow no?  Torges uses the rind for the belly.  Any thoughts to the advantages of doing one way or the other.  I'd really like to try a sinew backed one of these in the mid 40's.

It is one little piece and I made the curves with the heatgun

Yes, working with Rattan is not to compare with woodworking, Rattan is very light and has very long fibres.

@NTD
I used the outside of the rattan for the back of the bow. Torges is right in using the outside of the Rattan for the belly, because it is harder and better under compression. But I like the looks more the way i did it.
