Mason's Compton Points
« on: June 23, 2010, 12:12:43 am »
Just got back from Compton and here are two points Mason knocked out up there. Got some good tips and pointers from Norm Blaker, the father of Michigan flintknappin. Also got to spend some good time with Mike and Jon from Michigan as well. Now off to the shop to make larger copper boppers.....

That was obsidian that the Michigan fellers gave Mason. Yep, notchin is impoving greatly thanks to Shannon ! The thinning improvement is bopping lessons and getting Mason to start holding the biface in his hand and off his leg, thanks to Jesse ! No wonder he is getting better, great teachers !!! Now we got to get his Dad past kindergarten ! We will try to make July, Compton put a dent in the piggy bank for sure. Check the thread on tradgang, " Shrew Surprise @ Compton " and you will see a priceless pic of the surprise on Mason's face ! Heck Pappy, we might pick up cans or mow some yards between now and then to get the gas and grocery $$$ for July. Right now grocery $$$ is the big thing for Mason the hollow legged grocery disposal unit, haha !!!

Pappy,
We are going to do all we can to make it. We always have a great time at your place. Rest assured there will be knapping going on. I plan on hiding in the rock pile all day with Jesse and Shannon for two reasons.... #1 I got no business being on the course the way I shoot with all the world champs out there ! I would only hold things up looking for my arrows , haha ! #2 I want to start learning all I can as fast as I can on knapping to play catch up with Mason.
