Latest Blades and a Few Points.........
« on: April 18, 2010, 08:13:49 pm »
Well last weekend and this weekend this is what I have accomplished.  Not to mention all the ones I broke.  The knife and knife blade are of some burns green I picked up at Glass Buttes Knap-In.  the dagger is of a tri-colored midnight lace looking obsidian from glass butte.  The small point is mahagony, the other small is midnight lace, and last a piece of some kind of jasper I found along the snake river. Have no clue what it is just I found it and that was the only piece around. Luckily I got a point from it. Thanks for looking.

Nice work Tell, some real nice points and blades. I have to laugh at all the different names for obsidian though sounds like a marketing gimmick :P

Yeah I didnt really know all the names until I went to the knap in.  There you will learn them fast and know them by heart by the time you leave.

Nice points. I really like that one with the stripe. You have to be lucky to live near Glass Buttes.

Thanks guys.

You all should come one year.  There is more obsidian there than anyone could ever use. Its not that hard to dig up some good stuff either.  I brought home a whole bunch of it.  It is good stuff.

Nice work Tell!  I think you certainly did well by that piece of Burns Green...
